Outfitted with the newest Cree LED technology, each light bar in the LX LED series is IP68 rated – meaning that they are completely dust-tight and watertight – as well as 8.6g shock-resistant. Round 6 of the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross Series took place on Saturday night in San Diego, California.
TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing’s Chad Reed had always been the man to beat in San Diego, winning the main event a record 6 times in his career. After a confident win in his heat race, Reed was poised to add to that record. Reed took off well in the main event and settled into a 2nd place position. Keeping the leader in sight Reed was ready to make a pass if the opportunity presented itself. Just two laps from the end Reed made his move and briefly led, but eventual race winner, Ryan Villopoto, was able to get by for the victory. Reed ended the night on the podium for the 5th time this season. His well earned 2nd place finish keeps him in 2nd place in the series’ points standings, now 6 points away from the top spot. (more…)
